The British Embassy,
Manila
announces a new service for travellers who require a
visa to enter the
United Kingdom
. www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk is an award winning
application service where applicants can apply for their visa online. The
British Embassy will now accept on-line visa applications for all categories of
UK
visas. Links to the service are available on our and our Commercial
Partner’s website:

The on-line application process ensures that a visa applicant provides all the
information the Embassy requires to consider their application. You will be
able to complete the application form on-line by following the step-by-step
instructions.
As part of the process you can make an appointment to visit our Commercial
Partner’s offices in person where you will bring a copy of your completed
on-line application, a photograph, supporting documentation that is required
and pay for your visa. An appointment can be made through their website
detailed above.
The advantage is that you will be able to choose a time that suits you using
the on-line appointment booking service. And queuing times will be reduced.
Until further notice, the Embassy will continue to accept the hand written
applications.

How do I apply?
1.
By Prior Appointment: We strongly recommend you to visit the
Application Centre by prior appointment. This will help you save unnecessary
waiting time. You will particularly value the appointment facility during the
peak season when long queues may be an occurrence. To book a submission
appointment you may do so in either of the following ways:
o

This service is available
thru a toll call charge costing PHP 32.00 per minute for landline calls (excluding
VAT and applicable NDD charges for calls made outside Metro Manila). Additional
rates may apply for calls made through payphones, prepaid phone cards or mobile
phones.

Walk-in Submission without Prior Appointment: Walk-in
Submission without Prior Appointment: With effect from 01 January 2008
applicants without a submission appointment will be accommodated from
0800
to 0900 ONLY, Monday to Friday.

Walk-in applicants are advised that the queue before they are attended to by a
UK VAC Submission Officer may take anywhere from a few minutes or up to 2 hours
or more depending on the volume of applicants on any particular day. For
your convenience we therefore strongly recommend you book an appointment in a
manner explained above.

Please note that only applicants are allowed inside the application center
. The only exceptions to this policy are those accompanying children under the
age of 18 years or applicants needing special assistance for health reasons or
disability.

Applicants who have paid their visa fee either by purchasing a Manager’s Cheque,
ATM, OR by paying CASH over the counter at any branch of Standard Chartered
Bank, Bank of Philippine Islands, Banco De Oro or Metro Bank can make an
application in 3 easy steps:
o
For CASH over the counter: Obtain a fee receipt from any
branch of Standard Chartered Bank, Bank of Philippine Islands, Banco De Oro and
Metro Bank. Please carry a photocopy of your passport data page when you go to
the bank to pay the visa fee. You can book an appointment online on the
next working day from date of payment

For ATM: Keep the ATM transaction print out to serve as proof
of visa payment and present the receipt upon submission of your application at
the Visa Application Centre. You can schedule an appointment one day after
the date of your ATM BancNet visa payment.
o
For Manager’s Cheque: You may obtain a Manager’s Cheque from
any branch of Standard Chartered Bank, Bank of Philippine Islands, Banco De Oro
and Metro Bank. You may book an appointment online on the same day.
4.
You can
Schedule an appointment on this website one day after date of payment
at the bank.
Before you visit the UK Visa Application Centre, download the
Visa Application Form for completion. Also download the appropriate
checklist to confirm which supporting documentation needs to be
submitted at the Application Centre.

5.
Required Documentation
The following documentation
is mandatory in all cases. Please submit original documents with one photocopy of
each. Your originals will be returned after the final decision has been made by
an Entry Clearance Officer:
1.
A SIGNED visa application form (VAF)
which you have filled in correctly together with the SIGNED Declaration.
2.
Your passport or travel document with recommended validity
of at least 6 months.

A recent passport-sized (45mm x 35mm) colour photograph of

Note: Those applying for
settlement (ILE) as parents, grandparents and other dependant relatives will be
asked to provide a completed copy of the sponsorship undertaking, (to be completed

Please arrive at the UK Visa Application Centre 10 minutes before your
appointment time.
You are welcome to visit the Application Centre without prior appointment. You
will be assigned to a regular queue. Please note that during peak periods, the
number of persons who can be accommodated in the regular queue may need to be
restricted for reasons of crowd control / management.
Who needs to submit the application?
The British Embassy has introduced fingerprinting with effect from 31st May
2007 wherein every applicant would need to come in person to the Application
Centre to submit the application and subsequently carry out their biometric
enrolment.
