With effect on 15 July 2008 Seamen are
required to complete their application online using the following
link
http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk. The
standard VAF1 paper application will not be accepted at the
VFS Visa Application Centre from 15 July onwards.
Please provide photocopies of all the documents you will be
submitting:
A completed visa application form: Visitor From (VAF1
OCT 2007)
Your current passport with recommended validity of at least
6 months and any old passports
One recent coloured and unframed passport size photograph
taken with a light background. Approximate size should be

Visa fee in pesos. Payable across the Bank counter or Manager’s
Check (only from BPI, Banco de Oro, Metrobank & Standard Chartered
bank) made payable to the British Embassy Manila. And thru

Your current and old Seaman's Book.
Original and photocopy of employment contract.
Letter of guarantee from Agent indicating PORT OF ENTRY
and NEXT PORT OF CALL which must be outside British waters
Certificate of Competency and Certificate of Paticipation
(in your capacity as a seaman).
If you are to undergo training at the Steiner organization
before joining one of their ships or you are a senior managerial
level Maritime Officer (e.g. Captain Chief Engineer Chief
Officer or 1st Assistant Engineer) going to the UK for training
or briefing prior to joining your ship in a third country.
You will also need to provide the following:
a. Letter of guarantee from Steiner detailing the training
to be undertaken and when and where you are to join your ship.
b. You must already hold a visa for the country in which you
are joining your ship.
